AaB

Maja Baun has spent her career in Aalborg's goal. The senior side traces back to 2011, when the club set up a talent centre for girls and, alongside it, a separate elite company to run the women's team; the parent club, itself founded in 1885 as a cricket outfit before switching to football, bought that company back in 2023 and folded the operation into one organisation.

Promotion came in June 2020, after AaB won the second-tier 1. Division. The top flight gave the team two seasons to test itself: eighth place in 2020–21, tenth the year after, then relegation back down. No league title or Danish Cup sits in the club's history — the story so far is about reaching the top division rather than staying there.

Faroese defender Petra Hoydal and Ugandan midfielder Aisha Nantongo have carried international caps into the squad, while academy products such as Julie Madsen and Cornelia Kramer moved on to clubs in Norway and at HB Køge once they outgrew Aalborg. The team plays in blue and white, the same colours as the men's side, at Aalborg Portland Park.

Geography supplies the sharpest fixture on the calendar: meetings with Vendsyssel FF are billed as the Nordjysk Derby. For now, AaB Women are back in the 1. Division, working toward another run at the top flight they left in 2022.
