When Esbjerg fB put its name on a women's team sheet for the first time in the 2025/2026 season, the whole squad had arrived through a licence transfer from Varde IF, whose women's section dated back to 1971, when the club first opened its doors to women's football.
The arrangement let Esbjerg skip the years of building a side from nothing and step straight into the B-Liga , the second tier of Danish women's football.
They play in blue and white, the same stripes as the men's side, at the Blue Water Arena. No silverware has followed the team into its new identity yet; the trophies in the EfB cabinet belong to the men's side and its five Danish championships.
