Østerbro IF Kvinder line up this season in the B-Liga, the second tier of Danish women's football, a level below the Kvindeliga where the side has previously played.

The name goes back to a merger on 10 September 1998, when Østerbro Boldklub, founded in 1894, joined with Ryvang Fodbold Club, founded in 1922, to form a single Copenhagen club.

Home games are played on the Kunstbane, the artificial pitch inside Fælledparken, the large park in Copenhagen. It is not a ground the club has to itself: BK Skjold and BK Viktoria also play their matches there, so the calendar at Fælledparken is shared rather than fixed around one tenant.

The team wears red and white, in kits supplied by adidas, and the club sits within the Kvindedivisionsforeningen, the association that organises Denmark's women's divisions.
