AEL FC Arena

Larissa built this arena from bare ground rather than rebuild what it already had. Work began in September 2009 on Mezourlo hill, south of the city in the Neapolis district, and the pitch was ready by November 2010, an inauguration on 23 November followed by the first competitive match on 5 December. The old ground, Alcazar, was not renamed or absorbed — it stayed standing as its own stadium, and financial trouble later sent AEL back there for several seasons even after the move. That back-and-forth marks the arena out from newer builds elsewhere in Greece.

The address itself gives little away — Periferiakos Larisas , the city's ring road, with no street number attached.
