Sir Edward Stern handed the site to the club, which moved in during the 1920s and has stayed put since, under a name it only acquired in 1951 — before that it was plain Chertsey F.C.

On 4 December 1993, 2,150 people packed in for an Isthmian League Division Two visit from Aldershot Town — a record that still stands.

On 30 March 2019, roughly 2,000 watched the second leg of an FA Vase semi-final against Northwich Victoria end goalless, with Chertsey Town going through 5–3 on penalties. Supporters came over the barriers onto the grass; the club was headed for the final at Wembley.

The ground has a second tenant. Since September 2022 it has housed Dial Square FC, a club formed by Arsenal supporters.

Capacity now stands at 2,500, down from the 3,000 quoted in 2009.
