Alyn Park

The ground sits on the northern edge of Mold, off the Denbigh Road, with the river Alyn running past it. Mold Alexandra have played nowhere else since the club was formed in December 1929, and the site has never carried another name.

What it looks like now is largely the work of two short bursts. The first came in 1946, when a stand seating 300 to 400 went up. The second arrived in 1992, when the newly formed League of Wales set requirements the ground did not meet: floodlights and a new stand were put in with backing from Synthite, the chemical works in the town, and from the borough council. The following year a roof went over the stand, turnstiles were fitted, and the Tommy Wynn terrace was substantially extended. Further infrastructure work followed in 2000.

Crowds here are small and honest about it. Eighty-four came for the visit of Caernarfon Town in 2017; forty-eight watched Llanuwchllyn the year after. The pitch has still seen the odd afternoon that got away from one side entirely — on 16 September 2023, in the first round of the Welsh Cup, Mold Alexandra beat Montgomery Town 13-1 and had the game put to bed early.

The playing surface is grass; the club rents a 3G artificial pitch elsewhere for its women's and junior sections. Football is not the only use. The ground hosts the town's Bonfire Night each year, with fireworks and a fair, and has taken circus and stunt shows between fixtures.
