Ankara Aktepe Stadyumu

Until 1 August 2025, MKE Ankaragücü and Gençlerbirliği had never played each other in Keçiören. That afternoon the Başkent derby was staged at Aktepe, in the TSYD Ankara Kupası, and TRT Spor took the match live. Cup football has its own rules, and a pre-season tie is not a league fixture.

The ground belongs to the Ministry of Youth and Sports; the day-to-day running of it sits with Keçiören municipality. Ankara Keçiörengücü and Hacettepe 1945 are the standing tenants, and both have brought 1. Lig football here, but the stadium has also taken in clubs from outside the city. Erzurumspor and Boluspor have each used it for spells, either because their own pitches were unfit or because a neutral venue was required.

It has carried the same name since it opened in 1999. No sponsor has been attached to it and no rebrand has been recorded. The playing surface is natural grass and has been relaid.

What has not happened here is worth stating plainly: no Turkish Cup final, no senior international, no concert. The calendar is league football and the occasional invitational, and the derby of August 2025 remains the outlier.
