Attard Football Ground

The pitch sits quietly behind Attard Primary School on Triq Ħal Warda. It is a local ground. The capacity is often cited as greater than 1,500, though Football Manager databases list it at 1,924. Attard F.C. calls it home, a club founded in 1974 that has seen its fortunes shift enough to play recent fixtures at Sirens Stadium in St. Paul’s Bay.

Smaller matches still take place. The Veterans Malta Football Association uses the space for their older players, and 9-a-side games fill the weekends when the sun hits the grass. There is no grand history attached to the concrete either. Attard United played in the second tier between 1935 and 1940, but there is no confirmation they used this specific patch of earth. The village has moved on since then.

Ownership rests with the Attard Local Council or the school next door, though no official document clarifies the arrangement. The facility has not undergone major renovations, nor has it changed its name. It is simply where the ball is kicked when the lights are on.
