The ground on Nomozgoh street, in Bukhara's Afshormahalla neighbourhood, no longer stands. Builders raised it between 2000 and 2002 as the centrepiece of the city's sports complex, timed for the Summer Universiade, and for years afterwards it carried that history in its own names — Universiada first, then Markaziy, the Central Stadium, once the games had passed and the ground had settled into life as home to FC Buxoro.
The pitch was natural grass throughout. What set this one apart came at the end. The stadium closed in 2023, and by 2024 it had been demolished.
