Calwell sits in Tuggeranong, on Were Street, and the ground has no name of its own beyond the suburb it serves — no separate club history, no marquee opening date, just a set of council-run pitches doing the job Canberra asks of them. That absence of ceremony is the point: nobody built this for a single tenant, and it shows in how many different games pass through it in a given month.

Brindabella Blues FC, founded in 1990 and known for years as Blue Light Soccer Club, treat it as home ground, fielding National Premier League sides and Australia Cup qualifiers here — a 2022 Australia Cup qualifying semi-final against Queanbeyan City is among the sharper results in its record. ANU FC also plays fixtures on the same turf, and the fields double as a base for junior athletics through the Calwell Little Athletics Club, plus softball, touch football and the Kanga Cup youth tournament.

The 500-capacity ground has no grandstand culture to speak of, and its natural grass takes the wear of that mixed use hard: patches turn to mud, and motorbike ruts and tyre tracks cut into the surface often enough that resodding and reseeding are a standing chore for whoever maintains it, rather than an occasional fix. There is no artificial or hybrid pitch to fall back on, and no dedicated website — anyone looking for fixture details has to go through the tenant clubs or the ACT Government's own parks listings. It is the kind of ground that exists because a suburb needs somewhere to play, not because anyone set out to build a stadium.
