Stadium
Campo da Mata
The address alone tells you what kind of ground this is: Campo da Mata has stood there since 1934; no reconstruction has changed the shape of the place in the decades since it opened.
That matters most on the one occasion the ground was asked to do more than it normally does. In 2018 Caldas Sport Clube drew Aves in the semi-final of the Taça de Portugal, and the club spent 35,000 euros on the pitch and on the accesses. For the tie itself, the declared capacity was raised to 6,500.
The everyday version is more modest. Natural grass, plastic seats — the COA model supplied by DEM2 — and a floodlighting scheme designed by DAEL.
One figure follows the stadium around and is worth setting aside: a capacity of 13,000 appears in some listings.
