Stadium
CEPAC Velodrome
Marseille, France
Formerly: Stade Vélodrome, Orange Vélodrome
The CEPAC Velodrome was not built quietly: the original structure opened in 1937, but the current one is a later rebuild, carried out for the 2016 European championship.
The pitch is an AirFibr hybrid surface, installed in 2014.
Olympique de Marseille have played here since the beginning, but the ground has hosted more than just their matches. Before the recent work, the crowd figures were lower; the old record for a football match was set in 2004 against Newcastle United.
It is a modern shape built on an old foundation.
