Chele Arena

Kobuleti has one arena worth naming. The ground opened in 1967 as the city's Central Stadium, a Georgian SSR-era build with no record of who designed or raised it. It carried that plain name for decades until a 2012 rebuild, paid for largely by the Georgian Football Federation and backed by the Kobuleti municipal administration.

The pitch itself is a point of confusion rather than pride: German-language sources describe an artificial surface laid during the 2012 works, while photographs and club records from later years show natural grass, and no account since has settled the question either way.

The arena has hosted football well above its own city's level. Between 2021 and 2023, Dinamo Batumi brought European qualifying nights here — a win over Sivasspor in the Conference League, a defeat to Slovan Bratislava in Champions League qualifying, and a loss to Tirana the following summer. Georgia's national side has never played here. Plans announced in 2023 for a new 8,000-seat stadium in the city have not changed anything about the ground FC Shukura still calls home.
