Chitipa Stadium

Chitipa Stadium sits at the end of a long road for Chitipa United. The club spent years playing home fixtures at Karonga Stadium, nearly 100 kilometres away, because this ground was not ready. The delay was not merely bureaucratic; it was physical. Construction stalled owing to funding issues and foreign exchange shortages, leaving the project 60 per cent complete through much of 2024.

The pitch itself tells a different story than the surrounding scaffolding. Natural grass was reported as finished as early as October 2023, yet the stands remained empty for another two years. The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) gave the green light on July 2, 2025, finally ending the exodus.

There is no official seating capacity listed in public records, and no attendance figures have been recorded since the doors opened. The stadium is not a destination; it is a return to origin.

In November 2025, the team drew a goalless match against Mighty Wanderers. The travels are over, but the work continues.
