Choctaw Stadium
Schwarz Architectural Services and HKS, and it opened on 1 April 1994 as a home for the Texas Rangers , who stayed until 2019. The playing surface for baseball was natural grass, a blend of Bermuda and ryegrass.
The record crowd came before the departure: 52,419 on 30 October 2010, for Game 3 of the World Series against the San Francisco Giants. Once the Rangers left, the City of Arlington spent about $10 million over 2019 and 2020. Lower seating on the third-base side came out, a 4,000-seat grandstand went in, and the ground was laid with synthetic turf.
Since then it has taken in the Dallas/Arlington Renegades of the XFL and UFL, North Texas SC in MLS Next Pro, and, between 2022 and 2024, the Dallas Jackals in Major League Rugby. It has also hosted the So What?! Festival.
The name has changed almost as often as the tenants: The Ballpark in Arlington, then Ameriquest Field in Arlington, then Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, then Globe Life Park in Arlington, and Choctaw Stadium since 2021. It sits in Arlington's Entertainment District, beside the Texas Live! complex.
