City Stadium (Akop Tonoyan Stadium), Armavir

Ask around Armavir about the ground and the story is really about its names. It opened in 1980 as the Jubilee Stadium, built to mark sixty years of Soviet power in Armenia, and held close to ten thousand people in its early years. For most of the decades since, people simply called it the Armavir City Stadium.

The rebuild that reshaped the place ran from 2017 to 2021. Contractors pulled down the east stand entirely and converted the main stand to all-seater, reopening the ground on 30 November 2021. The identity of the place settled only in 2022, when the stadium took the name of Hakob Tonoyan. What the reconstruction left behind is far smaller than what stood there before: capacity now sits at 3,120.

Natural grass covers the pitch, and the Football Federation of Armenia owns the site outright — updates go through the federation's own page instead. Sardarapat play their football there now; Noah were tenants between 2021 and 2023, and Armavir before them, up to 2003. The ground has also hosted the Armenian Super Cup, with Shirak taking the trophy there in both 2019 and 2023. Only coordinates mark it on the map.
