Stadium
De Adelaarshorst
Formerly: Go Ahead-terrein aan de Vetkampstraat
The ground on the Vetkampstraat has been the same patch of grass since Go Ahead played their first official match there against Rotterdam's VOC and won 3-0. It was not called De Adelaarshorst then, or for another half-century.
The main stand, drawn by Maarten van Harte, went up in 1933. A covered stand followed in 1963. On 29 September 1965, for the European Cup tie against Celtic, temporary stands were pushed in around the pitch; the official figure is 22,000, the club's own histories say 25,000. Celtic won 6-0 in Deventer, won the return 1-0, and went on to take the trophy.
By 2013/14 the capacity had fallen to 8,011.
The artificial pitch gave way to grass in 2008.
