El Alcoraz
When Huesca returned to the top division in 2021, the main stand was extended again, adding a further 1,490 seats and taking the total to 9,128.
The ground's own story goes back further. Raimundo Bambó Mompradé designed and built it without charging a fee, at the urging of club president José María Mur Coronas, and four years of work were completed for close to 15 million pesetas, the equivalent of around 90,000 euros. It opened in January 1972 with a match against Deportivo Aragón — the third home SD Huesca had used, after La Cabañera and San Jorge — and its name commemorates the Battle of Alcoraz rather than any earlier ground on the same site.
The pitch was renewed more recently than the stands. Since 2021 it has played on a hybrid surface, natural grass reinforced with synthetic fibres stitched through the turf.
