Huesca

It took Huesca until May 2018 to field a side good enough to reach the Primera División for the first time — and only one season to fall back out of it. Two years later, in July 2020, the Oscenses returned as Segunda División champions, then went straight back down after that single campaign. Both promotions remain the high points of a club that has spent almost all of its history outside Spain's top two divisions.

The blue and garnet strip goes back further than either promotion, and further than the club in its current form. Supporters of the old Stadium Huesca wore the colours in tribute to Barcelona, and the shade carried over when Sociedad Deportiva Huesca was formally constituted on 29 March 1960 — though the club traces its roots to Huesca Fútbol Club, founded in 1910. Money nearly ended the project twice, in 1984 and again in 1992, and the club was restructured into a sociedad anónima deportiva in 2009 to put its finances on steadier ground.

Before any of that, there were years spent winning in the lower tiers: six Tercera División titles between 1967 and 1994, a Segunda División B championship in 2014/15, an amateur national title in 1971/72. Home matches are played at El Alcoraz, rebuilt in 2018 and now holding 7,638.

Real Zaragoza, down the road, provides the closest thing to a rivalry Huesca has — the Derbi aragonés, played against a club with a far longer top-flight history than Huesca's own.

The club dropped out of the Segunda División again at the end of 2025/26 and now plays in Primera Federación. Off the pitch, control changed hands in February 2026, when Costa Group and Arqa Group completed the purchase of a 95.75% stake in the club.
