El Malecón
Torrelavega's ground carries a name older than the structure standing on it today.
The replacement, designed by local architect Javier Terán with the Torrelavega council and the Cantabrian regional government behind it, opened in January 2012 with a match against Guijuelo. Construction ran roughly 600,000 euros over its original budget, and the finished stadium, all-seated at just over six thousand, holds far fewer than the old Malecón did at its fullest.
Football has shared the ground before — Deportivo Torrelavega played its home fixtures here through stretches of the 1920s and into the 1940s — and Spain's rugby side has used it too, including a Rugby Europe Championship match against Georgia. The stadium doubled as a concert stop in 2023, with Joaquín Sabina and Scorpions among the acts drawing crowds that summer.
