Ernesto "Tito" Cucchiaroni

Posadas, Argentina

Formerly: Club Bartolomé Mitre Stadium, Cancha Mitre

The nickname tells you more about the ground than the name on the gate does. Locals call it Gigante de Rocamora — the giant of Rocamora — after the Posadas neighbourhood it sits in, at Avenida Martín Fierro 4044. Seven thousand people fill it, which makes the "giant" part a matter of what the district is used to rather than what the stands hold.

It opened on 9 July 1968. That start is the one firm marker in the ground's history. Since then no rebuilding of the terraces has been recorded, no change to the capacity, no reconfiguration of the bowl — the stadium that took its first crowd in 1968 is, as far as anything shows, the stadium standing now.

The name it carries came later and posthumously. Ernesto "Tito" Cucchiaroni, a footballer from Misiones, died on 4 July 1971; the ground was renamed for him afterwards. Who took that decision, and when, is not on record.

Bartolomé Mitre play here. The pitch is natural grass, relaid before the 2023 season.
