Bartolomé Mitre goes into the season having confirmed its place in Torneo Federal A, Argentina's third tier, a promotion earned after winning the 2024–25 Torneo Regional Federal Amateur with a 4–0 win over Acción Juvenil. For a club that spent long stretches at the provincial level, the step up puts it back among the national divisions it last visited in the 1970s.

That earlier run remains the high point on the record: appearances in the Campeonato Nacional, Argentina's top flight at the time, in 1972 and 1975, sandwiched around a Torneo Regional title in 1972. A Copa Argentina appearance in 1970 rounds out the years when Posadas had a team competing on the wider stage.
