Formosa's football hierarchy runs on four names, and Sol de América sits among them, playing out its games in Torneo Federal A against the two clubs that matter most to its own supporters: San Martín de Formosa and Sportivo Patria. Those meetings carry the name El Clásico Formoseño, and history has favoured the rivals more than once when it counted — San Martín ended Sol de América's run in the 2014 Torneo Federal B semi-final on penalties.
