Estadio 12 de Octubre

Formerly: Estadio Juan Canuto Pettengill

What outsiders call the Estadio 12 de Octubre no longer exists on the ground — the club and its own supporters have carried the ground's official name, Estadio Luis Alberto Salinas Tanasio, since the 2016 renaming honoured a man who ran the club and later ran the town itself. Before that it answered to Estadio Juan Canuto Pettengill for more than half a century, and the switch says something about a stadium whose history is bound up with local politics rather than any national tournament.

It sits in the Ibagatí district of Itauguá, tucked around fifty metres off the Ruta Mariscal Estigarribia, the road that carries most of the traffic between Asunción and the country's interior — near enough for a passing driver to catch a glimpse, far enough to stay out of the way. The ground has held its natural turf since it opened in 1965, never converted, never chasing the artificial-surface trend that reshaped smaller Paraguayan venues elsewhere.

Capacity is generally put at 10,000, though at least one count has run lower, closer to 8,000 — a discrepancy common enough at grounds this size, where terracing rather than seating makes an exact figure hard to pin down.
