Estádio 15 de Abril
Club Unión had planned to open the ground on 15 April 1929, but rain and other organisational delays pushed the inauguration back to 28 April — the name stuck anyway. Construction had moved fast for its time: work began in October 1928 and was finished by early January the same year, at a cost of 200,000 pesos.
The stands themselves were rebuilt more than once. The club committed to pouring the whole ground in concrete after a terrace collapsed during a local derby against Tigre in 1943. The most recent overhaul, branded El Estadio de la Gente and led by architect Carlos Castellitti, added a new south stand with executive boxes and press facilities between 2012 and 2014, work that Astori Construcciones later returned to finish in 2021. A further permit now covers an upper tier on the north side, along Candido Pujato street.
Unión's first taste of continental football came here, a 2-0 win over Ecuador's Independiente del Valle in the 2019 Copa Sudamericana. The ground also hosted the 2024 Copa Argentina final between Vélez Sarsfield and Central Córdoba. For most of its history locals simply called the main stand after Albino García, a former player — an informal name that faded once the newer stands went up.
