Estadio Allen Riggioni Suárez

The ground on Calle 3 belongs to the town, not to a club. It is owned by the Municipalidad de Grecia. The current name is Estadio Allen Riggioni Suárez.

It opened in 1973 and holds 4,000. The Costa Rican cup final is not a candidate either; it belongs to the Estadio Nacional in San José by long habit. What Grecia does host, and what gives the place its standing, are Segunda División finals — promotion deciders, played on natural grass in front of a crowd small enough to be counted.

Neither does the stadium. The only address that answers for it is the municipality's.

Attendance records are the usual measure of a ground's biggest night, and Grecia's is not on public record. What is on record is the arithmetic of the place: 4,000 seats in a provincial town in Alajuela, a pitch the municipality maintains, and a fixture list that runs to second-division football and the occasional match that decides who goes up.
