Estadio Anexo Butarque

Formerly: Anexo Butarque (before 2017)

Butarque's second pitch does not pretend to be anything other than what it is. It sits inside the Estadio Municipal de Butarque complex, in the shadow of the main ground, and it exists for the games the first team never plays. For years it was simply Anexo Butarque, a synthetic strip that hosted the club's B side and its youth ranks while attention gathered elsewhere.

The renovation in March 2017 changed its standing rather than its purpose. New covered stands went up, floodlights were installed, and the dressing rooms and warm-up area were rebuilt alongside a fresh artificial surface. With that work came a new name: Campo de fútbol Jesús Polo, honouring the man who ran Leganés as president from 1978 to 2005. A ground that had operated in the background for decades finally had its own identity attached to it.

Capacity stayed modest, around 2,000, which suits its role. This is where Leganés B play their football, currently in Tercera Federación, and where the club's Juvenil, Cadete and Infantil squads come through. Nobody expects a crowd here in the way they might next door; the ground is built for development, not occasion.

It should not be confused with the club's senior home. The 1998-built Estadio Municipal de Butarque, with its far larger capacity, is the address most associated with Leganés. This annex predates even that arrangement in some form, with match records placing a pitch here as far back as the 1979/80 season, long before the current stands or the Jesús Polo name existed.
