Estádio Aniceto Moscoso

Estádio Aniceto Moscoso opened its gates on 15 June 1941 with a match against Fluminense, and the home side won it 4–2 in front of 10,762 people. It came closest three years later, on 10 September 1944, when 11,714 turned up for a Campeonato Carioca fixture against the same opponent, though that day the visitors won 1–3.

Estádio Conselheiro Galvão has stayed a working neighbourhood venue rather than a showcase one — no major internationals, no concerts, just Carioca football played out in front of a few thousand seats. Vasco da Gama borrowed the pitch as a home ground for a season in 1997, a reminder that Rio's bigger clubs have occasionally needed somewhere smaller to play. In recent years the ground has kept its place in the state championship's business end, hosting Taça Guanabara and Taça Rio knockout fixtures, including Sub-20 matches in 2021 and 2022 and senior games as recently as 2025.

What Madureira offers, in the end, is continuity: a club stadium that has kept doing the same job, on the same street, for over eight decades.
