Estádio Antônio Inácio de Souza
Caruaru, Brazil
Formerly: Estádio Vera Cruz, Campo do Vera Cruz
It sits quietly in the São Francisco neighborhood. The name on the gate is Antônio Inácio de Souza, but for decades it was known simply as the ground of Vera Cruz. The playing surface remains natural grass.
The venue holds 6,000 spectators. The address is Rua Heleno Feijó da Silva, 135, in a residential area that was once the site of the Curtume Souza Irmãos factory. The renaming of the stadium happened after the death of Antônio Inácio de Souza on 12 May 1957; he was a director at the factory and a benefactor to the club that used the land.
Today, the Estádio Antônio Inácio de Souza hosts Clube Atlético do Porto and has seen Caruaru City compete in the Campeonato Pernambucano Série A2. Renovations took place in 2015 to prepare the ground for professional fixtures, ensuring the grass remains suitable for the game.
