CA Porto U20

When Clube Atlético do Porto's under-20 side beat Santa Cruz 3–2 in the 2018 final at the Arena de Pernambuco, it took the club's fourth Campeonato Pernambucano Sub-20 title.

The club was founded on 30 July 1993 by José Porfírio de Oliveira and turned professional the following year. Its blue, black and white were chosen in homage to Atlético Clube Caruaru, an earlier club in the city that had folded, and the shirt still carries the nickname Tricolor do Agreste alongside Gavião — the training ground is known simply as Ninho do Gavião, the Hawk's Nest.

Porto's derby with Central Sport Club, the Clássico Matuto or Clássico Mestre Vitalino, has carried the club's sharpest results: the 1999 Copa Pernambuco was settled against Central, and the Campeonato Pernambucano Série A2 followed in 2003 against Serrano.

Between 1994 and 2007 Porto competed in Série C, reaching no higher than fourth place in 1996, and returned to national football with a Série D campaign in 2011 that ended in fifth. It has since fallen out of Pernambuco's top flight twice, relegated in 2016 and again in 2024.

The player Caruaru remembers best is Josué, who left the Ninho do Gavião for São Paulo before moves to Wolfsburg and Atlético Mineiro carried him into the Brazil national team, with a Copa América and a Copa Libertadores among his medals from 2007.
