Pernambucano - U20 (Brazil) 2026/27

The Campeonato Pernambucano Sub-20 is the official youth football competition for players under 20 years of age in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Organized by the Federação Pernambucana de Futebol (FPF), the tournament was founded in 1920. This longevity makes it one of the oldest youth football tournaments in the country. Its history includes various names, such as the "Torneio Terceiros Quadros" and the Campeonato Pernambucano Juvenil, before adopting its current title in 1955.

The competition operates at the state level and is not a tiered league with promotion and relegation. Participation is mandatory for clubs registered in the senior Série A1 and Série A2 of the Pernambuco state championship. The format typically involves 16 to 18 clubs divided into two groups. The first phase is a single round-robin within groups. The top four teams from each group advance to a second phase, where they are re-divided into two new groups and play a single round-robin against teams from the opposite original group. The top two teams from each second-phase group advance to two-legged semifinals. The final is a single match, often held at a neutral venue.

Sport Club do Recife is the most successful club in the competition's history with 39 titles. Santa Cruz Futebol Clube follows with 28 titles, and Clube Náutico Capibaribe has 26 titles. The champion qualifies for the Copa do Brasil Sub-20 and the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-20 Série B. Additionally, top-performing teams may qualify for the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, a national tournament organized by the Federação Paulista de Futebol.
