The Campeonato Capixaba Série B serves as the second tier of professional football in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Organised by the Federação de Futebol do Estado do Espírito Santo (FES), the competition operates below the top-flight Série A. It distinguishes itself from the premier division through specific regulations designed to manage costs and accessibility. While the Série A is often commercially sponsored, the second tier retains the generic name. Additionally, squads are permitted to include up to eight amateur players under the age of 20. Stadium requirements also vary by stage, with the first phase requiring 1,000 seats, whereas the semifinals and finals demand an increase to 2,000 seats. Unlike many other systems, there is no relegation from this tier because a third tier does not exist within the state structure.
The format for the current season involves ten teams split into two geographic groups: Centro-Norte and Centro-Sul. Participants in the Centro-Norte group include Linhares FC, Doze, CTE Colatina, GEL, and Audax São Mateus. The Centro-Sul group comprises Rive, Estrela do Norte, Tupy-ES, Pinheiros-ES, and Sport-ES. Each group plays a two-legged round-robin. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals, which are also played over two legs. The finalists face each other in a two-legged tie, with the winner earning promotion to the Série A. Financial incentives exist for the top two finishers, with the champion receiving R$ 45,000 and the runner-up R$ 30,000.
The competition has a complex history. The first recorded edition took place in 1917, won by Campos Salles. However, the modern continuous professional era is generally cited as starting in 1987, following sporadic or amateur editions in the intervening years. São Mateus and Serra FC are the most successful clubs, each holding three titles. São Mateus won in 1987, 2008, and 2019. Serra FC secured victories in 1997, 2017, and 2025. Other multi-time winners include Aracruz, Desportiva Ferroviária, Estrela do Norte, Rio Branco-ES, Vilavelhense, Vitória-ES, and Capixaba, each with two titles.
