Tupy

Tupy went into 2024 back in the Série B of the Campeonato Capixaba, the second tier of Espírito Santo's state championship.

Founded on 16 October 1938, Tupy carries the nickname Índio Canela-Verde, and the ties to that identity go beyond the name on the shirt. In 2017, with Chapecoense's plane crash still fresh, the club took the field in an all-green kit as a gesture of solidarity — a departure from the usual yellow shirt with green trim. In that year, Luiz Alberto, a defender who had come through Flamengo, was in the squad.

The club's push into Série A around 2016-2017 leaned on Jocimar, known as Lambiru, an academy graduate who captained the side through that promotion.

Silverware has come mostly at the local level: the Vila Velha municipal championship and the amateur Liga Vilavelhense in 1966, the Taça Vila Velha de Master and a second Liga Vilavelhense title in 1985, the Série B crown in 2001, and the Copa Metropolitana in 2009 after beating Cariacica in the final. The closest run at the state's biggest prize came in 2016, when Tupy reached the Série B final and lost to Vitória-ES over two legs, 0-0 and 1-3.

Home games are played at the Estádio Gil Bernardes da Silveira in the Itapoã district, known locally as Toca do Índio, which holds 1,000 people.
