Estadio Cancún 86
Cancún, Mexico
The most striking feature of Estadio Cancún 86 is the **seating** itself, which is painted in bright **red stripes**, giving the small ground a distinct look against the green grass.
Built in **1986** to mark the year of that FIFA World Cup, the venue holds **6,390 spectators** and has belonged to **Pioneros de Cancún** since it opened. While the team currently plays in the **Liga Premier de México**, the stadium has seen more than just local football. Over the years, it hosted **Spartak Minsk**, **Groningen**, and **Grasshopper Club Zurich**, alongside the Brazilian and German Olympic squads.
The **natural grass** pitch is marked with standard white lines, and the goal nets are visible at either end. The venue is owned by the **Municipality of Benito Juárez** and managed by the local sports institute **IMCFIDEBJ**.
The stadium has hosted concerts, including one by **Belinda** in 2002, but it is best known for its football. The name has never changed, and the location on **Avenida Tulum** remains the same.
