Estadio Ciudad de la Libertad

Estadio Ciudad de la Libertad sits in the Merlo Partido, far from the centre of Buenos Aires. The ground opened in 1967, built by the club itself, and has remained the home of Club Atlético Ferrocarril Midland ever since.

The decision made Midland one of the first directly affiliated clubs to adopt synthetic turf. The capacity remains a matter of some dispute: while Wikipedia lists it at 3,600, several Argentine football databases and websites, such as Fichajes.com and Posiciones.com.ar, cite a figure of 6,000. A more recent claim of 11,000 following a 2023 expansion is not supported by consistent documentation.

The stadium has seen its share of drama. In 2023, violent clashes between rival ultra groups occurred at the venue following a promotion to the Primera B Metropolitana, resulting in injuries. Yet it also witnessed triumph: in 2025, the club won the Primera B Metropolitana championship here, securing promotion to the Primera Nacional for the first time in its history. No official attendance record for matches played at the stadium has been found, but the ground continues to serve its community. It does not host major national finals or international matches.
