Estádio Comendador Agostinho Prada
The land under the Pradão was a gift. Agostinho Prada, who owned the company that handed the plot to the city, gave his name to the ground that went up on it between 1945 and 1946 — though not immediately, and not in full. For years the place was simply the Estádio Municipal, or the Estádio Municipal Agostinho Prada; the fuller title, with the honorific "Comendador" in front, settled on it later. After the rebuilding work of 1975 the shorter municipal version was still the one in use.
That ownership question has never quite gone away, because it is not a technicality here. The ground belongs to the Prefeitura de Limeira. It is run, day to day, by Independente Futebol Clube , whose home it is.
Even the address is a small argument. Rua Professor Azevedo, 530 sits close enough to a boundary that the postal record puts it in Vila Rocha while commercial directories and mapping services file it under Jardim Esteves.
And it is not the only ground in Limeira — a detail worth holding on to, because the big attendance numbers people attach to this city belong to the other stadium across town, not to the natural grass at the Pradão.
