Estadio Guaycura
La Paz, Mexico
The stadium was opened in 1967 as part of a federal infrastructure project to modernise the territory of Baja California Sur. It has kept its original name ever since. The playing surface was changed to artificial turf during a major renovation completed in early 2019.
Capacity figures have moved with the times. The 2018–2019 renovation increased the official seated capacity, though the exact number depends on which source you consult. English Wikipedia and Transfermarkt list it as 5,209, while Spanish Wikipedia and OStadium.com cite 5,500; the base database figure is 5,490. The official attendance record for a football match is 13,362 spectators, set during the Clausura 2023 tournament when Club Atlético La Paz played Atlante. This figure exceeds the seated capacity, indicating standing room or overflow was permitted for that high-demand fixture.
The ground currently serves as the home for Club Atlético La Paz, which plays in the Liga de Expansión MX since the 2022–23 season. Before that, it hosted Lobos Marinos de La Paz for the 2019–2020 season in the Liga Premier de México. The stadium also hosts concerts and off-road championships, such as the Baja Sur Series 2022, but the football remains the anchor.
