Estadio Javier Cruz sits in the Curundú district of Panama City, where the layout of the ground is defined by its dual purpose. The pitch is surrounded by a red athletics track, a feature that places the stands closer to the action than in a dedicated football stadium. The playing surface itself is artificial turf, a green rectangle installed during a major renovation completed in 2020 to meet FIFA requirements.

It is part of the sports complex of the Escuela de Artes y Oficios Melchor Lasso de la Vega . The stadium opened in 1995 and is owned by the Ministry of Education of Panama ( MEDUCA ) and operated by the Municipality of Panama. The capacity is listed as 700, a figure that has dropped from previous estimates of 2,500, a reduction that followed the significant renovations in 2009 and again between 2017 and 2019 under Mayor José Isabel Blandón .
