It reopened on 30 July 2017 with a promotion play-off, Samambaia beating Botafogo-DF 1-0 to go up.
The original inauguration, on 14 August 1994, had gone the same way for the home side: Samambaia 1 Taguatinga 0, the first goal in the stadium's history scored by Jairo.
Across roughly 24 years of use, the pitch has staged something like 51 top-flight matches for the state. The 2013 renovation, costing around 399,800 reais, relaid the surface in Bermuda grass to CBF standard.
