For roughly a decade after it opened, the ground inside the Villa Olímpica José Figueres Ferrer sat largely unused. Between 2006 and 2008 the businessman Минор Варгас, then president of Брухас, negotiated with the Municipality of Десампарадос for the right to repair the stadium in exchange for using it, and his club played there from 2008 until 2011, by which point it had been renamed Орион.

The pitch is the reason bigger clubs keep turning up. A synthetic surface with a Shock Pad layer went in during 2018 and was certified to FIFA Quality standard in 2020: Эредиано moved matches here in 2018, 2020 and 2022, and Сантос де Гуапилес and Перес Селедон have done the same.

It has been used for more than league football. Copa Centroamericana women's fixtures have been staged here, along with American football internationals between Коста-Рика and Панама in September 2014, and concerts under the Festival Internacional de las Artes — Дон Омар in 2014, the Chilean band Ла Лей in 2015, with 10,000 tickets distributed.

In June 2023 the Линафа amateur final ended badly: after Антиокия won the return leg 2:1, Павас supporters broke onto the pitch, damaged the fencing on the western section and chased players until police intervened.
