Estadio La Llanera

La Bañeza is a small town in León province, and the Llanera is its only ground worth the name — home to La Bañeza Fútbol Club since the pitch first opened in 1935. The building itself tells its own story: locals put it up by hand, work stalled through the Spanish Civil War, and it took until the following decade for the stadium to properly come into use. That kind of stop-start history leaves a mark on a place that a purpose-built arena never has.

There is no former name attached to the Llanera, no rebrand, no chairman's vanity project stamped over the original. It has simply stayed what it was built to be. The natural grass pitch and the modest capacity keep it firmly a local ground rather than a regional showcase, and nothing in its record points to redevelopment or a defining night that changed its size or shape.

The club runs its own site, though it is not always easy to reach online — fitting for a stadium that has never really needed to advertise itself beyond La Bañeza. What holds here is simpler than any of that: a ground that opened before the war, survived it, and kept going.
