Estadio Leandro Nicéforo Alem
General Rodríguez has one football ground worth the name, and this is it. Club Leandro N. Alem spent its first sixteen years without a fixed home, moving between grounds after its founding on 10 May 1925, before buying the plot on the corner of Brown and Avellaneda in August 1941. The stadium built on that land has carried the club's name ever since, with no recorded change of identity in between.
Eighty-five years on it, is still the modest ground that purchase produced: 4,000 capacity, natural grass, tucked into a corner of Buenos Aires province an hour west of the capital, far from the pull of the bigger Argentine leagues. There is no rival arena in town to compare it against and no reconstruction to speak of — the address on Avenida Almirante Brown y Sarmiento is the same one the club settled on in 1941, and the stadium has stayed put since.
