Estadio Maracaná

Estadio Maracaná sits on Cinta Costera III, the reclaimed strip of coastline that runs along Panama City's seafront through El Chorrillo. The state built it as part of that land-reclamation project and opened it on 9 April 2014, at a cost of 8 million US dollars, all of it public money — just the Instituto Panameño de Deportes running it as it runs the country's other public sports facilities.

The ground has never had a website of its own; anything official goes through the IPD's own pages. It opened with an artificial surface, but that is currently being pulled out.
