Amador begin the season carrying the weight of back-to-back league titles, having taken both the Apertura and Clausura in 2025 and then the Clausura again in 2026.
Plaza Amador have been collecting these since 1988, when they took the first championship of the newly formed ANAPROF as one of its founding clubs. Titles followed in 1990 and 1992, then a longer gap before 2002 and 2005, and again before 2016.
The current squad owes some of that to players who left Panama and came back. Harold Cummings, who played at the 2018 World Cup, joined in August 2025, and Érick Davis returned the same year after a decade abroad. Alberto Quintero and Samir Ramírez, both current national team players, have filled out the side across 2024 and 2025.
Home games are played at Estadio Maracaná, in the El Chorrillo district of Panama City. The kit stays close to the flag: blue shirts and red shorts at home, red away, the badge carrying a gold lion and stars alongside the red, white and blue.
None of it existed until León "Cocoliso" Tejada founded the club on 7 April 1955, years before Panama had a professional league for it to play in. Plaza Amador spent its early years in the amateur Liga Distritorial, waiting for the structure that would eventually let it start winning things.
