Barrio Santísima Trinidad has one advantage most Asunción neighbourhoods can only envy: its own ground, small enough that nobody in the stands is far from the touchline. The Estadio Martín Torres has served as home to Club Sportivo Trinidense since it opened in 1957, and it has kept the shape of that era — a compact bowl for three thousand people rather than a modern arena built to impress from the outside.

What stands out here is not scale but continuity. Trinidense have played their football on this natural grass pitch for close to seven decades, long enough that the ground and the club have become difficult to separate in the local imagination. There is no roof to speak of, no corporate rebuild, nothing that marks it out as a stadium designed for anyone beyond the neighbourhood it serves.

That closeness is the point. On matchdays the away end never stops making itself heard, not because the crowd is large but because there is so little distance between the stands and the pitch for noise to travel. Estadio Martín Torres was never built to host finals or draw neutrals from across the capital; it was built for a club and a barrio, and it has done that one job without interruption since the 1950s.
