Estadio Modesto Marrone

Formerly: Estadio Monte Maíz

Monte Maíz is a small town in the Unión department of Córdoba, and its ground carries the name of the man who put it there. Modesto Marrone ran Deportivo Argentino as president from 1976 to 1995, and it was under his push that members and supporters of the club built the stadium themselves, opening it on 20 June 1986 as Estadio Monte Maíz. The naming came later and deliberately: in 2021, marking the club's ninety-sixth anniversary, the ground was renamed in his honour.

Locally it goes by another name too. Sitting in Barrio Talleres, it is known to the local press as El Coloso de Barrio Talleres — the giant of the Talleres neighbourhood.
