Estadio Municipal de La Pintana
Santiago (La Pintana), Chile
Estadio Municipal de La Pintana is owned and run by the Municipalidad de La Pintana, the district on Santiago's southern edge whose name it carries — and that ownership shows in what the venue is and is not. There is no sponsor's name over the gate, no commercial rebrand in its records: it opened under the name it still uses, and nothing has been sold since.
Сантьяго Морнинг, a Primera B side, plays its home football here — a professional club housed in a council stadium rather than one of its own. Since 2023 the pitch has taken a second tenant from a different code entirely: the rugby side Селкнам also plays its home matches on the same natural grass.
That arrangement puts unusual demand on a field of ordinary size. The stand holds five thousand, which is modest for a club at this level and modest again for a professional rugby fixture; crowds are close to the touchline rather than set back behind a running track's worth of distance. For visiting supporters the trip is to a working municipal facility in a residential commune, not to a purpose-built showpiece — the history between the two tenants and the ground is short, and it is still being written each time the grass is relaid between codes.
