Santiago Morning

Fans in Recoleta still call them Los Bohemios , and the microbus drivers who used to fill the terraces gave the club its other name, Los Microbuseros — a nod to the working district the team has never really left, even though home games are now played across town at the Estadio Municipal de La Pintana. The ground holds 5,000.

That name itself is a merger. Santiago Football Club took the field first, in 1903, but the identity fans know today only came together in March 1936, when the club joined forces with Morning Star. The white shirt with the black "V" across the chest dates from around that period.

The club's peak sits in the 1940s. Santiago Morning won the Chilean top flight in 1942, then added three Campeonato de Apertura titles before the decade closed, in 1944, 1949 and 1950, plus two Campeonato de Campeones in 1943 and 1944.
