Stadium
Estadio Municipal de Pasarón
Formerly: Campo de Pasarón
The stadium sits in O Burgo, a district of Pontevedra. It is an all-seater facility, a decision made by the City Council in 2005 that stripped the ground of its old standing terraces and reduced the capacity from 16,500 to the current official figure of 10,541.
The architecture is a study in concrete and necessity. The pitch itself is a standard 105 by 68 metres of natural grass, with no under-soil heating to combat the damp Galician winters.
The club, Pontevedra CF, was formed in 1941, and the site has hosted football since 1919, but the current structure is relatively modern. Construction began in 2006 and finished in 2010, with the stadium officially inaugurated on May 15 of that year.
