Estádio Municipal Edison Carlos Schramm

The pitch here sits on land that was, until fairly recently, private property. The Campo do Atlético belonged to a local owner before Edison Carlos Schramm handed the ground over to the municipality, and the stadium carries his name in recognition of that gift rather than in honour of any sporting achievement.

What passes for continuity at this ground is the work put into the turf. The most recent chapter closed on 25 March 2023, when São Mateus do Sul reopened the venue after a replanting of the grass, an occasion the town turned into something of a local gathering rather than a routine handover. No fixed tenant holds the ground; instead it has hosted whichever side needed a pitch, from Samas Sport Club to Associação Atlética Batel, who played their first home match here in that year's regional third division. Friendlies have brought in sides from further afield too, including Iraty Sport Club, Clube Atlético São-mateuense, Berith Futebol Club, and even a Coritiba masters team passing through.

None of this makes for a stadium built to impress. It is a municipal ground doing municipal work, absorbing whatever football the town needs to stage, sustained less by history than by upkeep.
